Le Balafonby ~nootilus

This image has been created by me back in 2001. I was in a computer design training course and I worked for two months in a little company called SoDesign. The purpose of this is to create a pad of postcard likes advetisments for fashion shops in some big cities of the western area of France.

The basis material were digital photos stock shot by the leader of the company (I don't exactly know what were his skills but he wasn't photoshopping). Apart me, his wife and employee was the only designer aboard. So, guess why despite all my creative efforts, none of my creations were printed.

This may not be my best work, and I'm not really proud of this, but I like it anyway.

Le Balafon is a restaurant.

Thank you. Too bad it was a lie. The real place is cold, made of glass and steel.
This is the typical case of a bad advertisement

This gives me that "Night Life" feel. I think you should be proud of it, because the emotion I think you were trying to portray was the first impression i got, thus a successful piece. : ) Great work!

Actually this is a scam. The real atmosphere of this restaurant is really far away from the suggested atmosphere given by my work. The restaurant room is made of glass, steel and dark plates. It's very shiny and futuristic.
But the guy from the company I was doing this for asked me to create a more comfy, warm and friendly atmosphere.
Being not paid and after all not even a part of this company, I didn't care a minute of his twisty ethic, but trust me I really thought it was a really mendacious ad.

Haha, well, none the less, i like the look of this one, whether or nor it has anything to do with the actual restaurant.
